Clear Responsibilities Create Better Projects
A project works best when every party understands what they are responsible for — and what they are not. This page explains the typical responsibility structure of a Stones Jordan® project.
Clear scope. Clear responsibilities. Better outcomes.
Client Responsibilities. Provide accurate and complete project information, Approve design, materials, and scope decisions in a timely way, Communicate budget expectations and constraints honestly, Review submissions and provide structured feedback, Make payments according to the contract, Identify authorized decision-makers for the project, Disclose existing conditions and restrictions when known.
Stones Jordan® Responsibilities. Scope-dependent. Exact responsibilities defined in the project proposal. Design according to agreed scope, Technical documentation for contractor use, Material guidance and sample coordination, Contractor coordination where included in scope, Scheduled site observations where included, Progress reporting to the client, Design clarification for contractors, Issue escalation when site problems are identified, Final review where included in scope.
Contractor Responsibilities. All physical construction and installation, Labor management and workmanship quality, Site safety and working conditions, Means and methods of construction, Compliance with contracts and specifications, Correction of defective or non-conforming work, Statutory obligations and compliance, Schedule management.
Specialist Consultant Responsibilities. Applicable where specialist input is required by the project. Structural design and calculation, Mechanical systems design and specification, Electrical systems design, Fire safety review where required, Pool engineering and specification, Landscape engineering specialties, Required regulatory approvals.
Stones Jordan's responsibilities depend on the signed proposal or agreement for each project. The descriptions on this website provide general information and do not replace the project contract. Supervision activities reduce uncertainty and help identify issues earlier — they do not transfer legal responsibility from the contractor to Stones Jordan® or eliminate the possibility of delays or unforeseen conditions.
