Design concept

The concept works dark, gold-veined stone and brass against walnut veneer and leather, so the office reads substantial without feeling heavy, and the same palette carries through the seating area and out onto the terrace.

The project story

M.S., who works in IT, wanted his home office to feel different from the rest of the apartment. He asked for one thing: warmth with a luxury look, not a flat corporate office at home, and a simple seating corner that worked both indoors and on the terrace outside it.

We built the room around contrast. A feature wall in dark, gold-veined stone sits behind open brass shelving, broken up with real books and a few personal objects instead of dense storage. A walnut-veneer desk and cognac leather chairs warm the room against the dark backdrop. The same palette carries into the seating area next to the office, then out onto the terrace, where a steel-framed pergola, wood decking and a fire pit turn the space into a second sitting room, with desert planting around it.

Lighting was the harder problem. A dark stone wall and a floor-to-ceiling window could easily go flat or glare at night, so we layered it: recessed ceiling light for the base, backlit niches in the shelving for depth, and a mix of a linear brass pendant and task pendants over the desk, so the room reads warm at any hour.

This project is design and visualization only. It was never built, and Stones Jordan® did not supervise construction on it.

Project challenge

Achieving a luxury look without the space feeling cold or corporate Distributing light evenly across a dark stone feature wall and a large window, without flat or glaring spots

Stones Jordan’s approach

Contrast dark, gold-veined stone and brass against walnut veneer and cognac leather, so the luxury reads through material quality, not ornament Layer three light sources: recessed ambient lighting, backlit shelving niches, and a brass pendant plus desk task lighting, so no zone goes flat or glares
